Sir MVIT Admission and Application Process 2026

Admission to Sir MVIT is entrance- and quota-based, with the route depending on the programme. For a regular four-year BE programme, applicants must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects together with an eligible third subject such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a technical vocational subject. The official eligibility page specifies at least 45% aggregate in the relevant subjects, relaxed to 40% for eligible reserved-category candidates from Karnataka.

The institute describes three principal BE admission routes. Karnataka CET seats are allotted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority and account for 45% of the stated intake. A further 5% supernumerary quota is described for eligible meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds under a tuition-fee-waiver arrangement. COMEDK UGET is open to Karnataka and non-Karnataka applicants, with 30% of intake stated as being filled through COMEDK counselling. The remaining 25% is described as management-quota intake, for which provisional formalities normally begin around April. Applicants should still satisfy academic eligibility and obtain current fee and vacancy information directly from the admissions office.

Lateral entry into the second year of selected BE programmes is available through KEA for eligible diploma or equivalent holders. The official page states that applicants should have completed an AICTE-approved diploma or recognised equivalent and have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level, subject to the prescribed aggregate and reservation rules.

M.Tech applicants need a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks, relaxed to 45% for eligible Karnataka reserved categories, and should appear for Karnataka PGCET or GATE. MBA applicants need a recognised bachelor’s degree with the required aggregate and an accepted score such as Karnataka PGCET, CMAT or KMAT. MCA eligibility covers BCA, Computer Science or equivalent graduates, as well as specified graduates who studied Mathematics at 10+2 or degree level, subject to the published aggregate requirement.

The application process generally involves checking programme eligibility, registering for the relevant entrance examination and counselling channel, selecting Sir MVIT as a preference where applicable, completing the institute or counselling application, uploading accurate academic and personal details, and paying the prescribed application or admission amount. Candidates allotted a seat must report for document verification and complete fee payment within the notified deadline.

Commonly requested documents include Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates, the relevant entrance-exam scorecard, degree or diploma records for postgraduate or lateral-entry applicants, migration certificate where applicable, identity documents and passport-size photographs.
