Agricultural Engineering Eligibility

Eligibility depends on the institution, university, entrance examination and academic year.

Undergraduate eligibility

A typical B.E. or B.Tech applicant may need to:

• Pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination.
• Study the Science subjects required by the institution.
• Obtain the prescribed aggregate and subject-wise marks.
• Appear for an accepted entrance examination.
• Meet the required rank or cutoff.
• Complete counselling and document verification.
• Satisfy category, domicile or nationality conditions where applicable.

Class 12 Science is the usual academic foundation. Many institutions prescribe an aggregate in the approximate range of 45–60 per cent, with relaxations where applicable, but there is no single percentage or subject rule for every college. Candidates must check the current prospectus, approved subject combination, category rules and counselling notice of the institution concerned.

PCM and PCB eligibility

Many engineering colleges require Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Some agricultural universities accept students with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or other approved subject combinations.

Applicants must check:

• Whether Mathematics is compulsory.
• Whether Biology is accepted.
• Whether Agriculture is accepted as an additional subject.
• Which entrance-examination stream applies.
• Whether accepted combinations differ by category.

A general portal statement that PCB students “can apply” should not be used as a universal eligibility rule.
