JEE Main Admit Card
Release information, download steps, important details and exam-day instructions.
Admit-card readiness desk
Verify the document, venue and reporting instructions before exam day.
Dates, fees, cutoffs and rules can change between admission cycles. Confirm dynamic details on the conducting authority’s official portal before acting.
Admit card and city slip are different documents
NTA first provides examination-city information and later issues the e-admit card. The admit card is provisional and subject to eligibility and successful fee receipt. It states the allotted date, shift, centre and reporting instructions. A candidate cannot choose another shift or appear at another centre.
Download and verification
Download the admit card only from the official JEE Main portal. Print a clear A4 copy and save the PDF offline. Check the candidate’s name, photograph, signature, paper, language, application number, date, shift and centre address. If there is a discrepancy, contact NTA through the official helpline and follow its instructions; do not edit the PDF.
What to carry
The 2026 bulletin required a printed admit card with self-declaration, one passport-size photograph matching the application, one permitted original and valid photo ID, applicable PwD/PwBD documentation, and a simple transparent ball-point pen. The admit card may prescribe additional or changed requirements, so read every page.
Reporting and centre discipline
Reach the centre well before the gate-closing time. Traffic, unfamiliar routes and public-transport delays are not accepted as reasons for late entry. Visit or map the location in advance, especially when the city is unfamiliar.
Candidates must sit only at the allocated seat and verify that the computer displays the correct paper. Raise technical problems immediately with the invigilator instead of attempting unauthorised fixes.
Prohibited items
The bulletin prohibited mobile phones, electronic devices, calculators, watches with calculator facilities, papers, stationery beyond permitted items, geometry boxes, bags and other listed materials. Follow the admit-card instructions even if another exam allowed an item.
Rough sheets are supplied at the centre. Write the required identity details on them and return them as instructed. Removing or exchanging rough sheets can lead to an unfair-means case.
Final checklist
- admit card and self-declaration completed as instructed;
- original permitted photo ID;
- matching photograph;
- applicable disability/scribe documents;
- transparent pen;
- route, travel buffer and reporting time confirmed;
- no prohibited item in pockets or bag;
- application number and emergency contact stored separately.
After the examination, retain the admit card with the answer-key records and scorecard for counselling.
