JEE Main Question Papers

Practice performance studio
Use papers as timed diagnostics, not merely as a question collection.
Dates, fees, cutoffs and rules can change between admission cycles. Confirm dynamic details on the conducting authority’s official portal before acting.
Previous five-year paper practice tracker
Attempt one complete year at a time under exam conditions, record weak chapters, then reattempt mistakes before moving to the next cycle.
Why official papers matter
Previous JEE Main papers reveal the language, depth, calculation load and distribution that generic practice books cannot reproduce perfectly. The official JEE Main website publishes question-paper resources and current-cycle documents. Prefer authentic papers before relying on recalled or reconstructed versions.
Four ways to use a paper
Diagnostic test: attempt a full paper before planning preparation. The purpose is to identify gaps, not to obtain an impressive score.
Chapter practice: extract questions belonging to a recently completed unit and solve them without time pressure. Explain why every wrong option is wrong.
Timed mock: recreate the three-hour CBT conditions, subject navigation and negative marking. Do not pause for solutions or messages.
Revision test: reattempt only previously incorrect, guessed or slow questions after a delay. A solved question is not mastered until it can be solved again independently.
Maintain an error log
Classify each lost mark:
- concept not known;
- formula or fact forgotten;
- wrong interpretation;
- algebra/arithmetic error;
- unit or sign error;
- guessed under negative marking;
- poor time allocation;
- interface/entry error.
Then attach a corrective action. “Be careful” is not an action; “write units at every line,” “relearn Kirchhoff sign conventions,” or “skip after three minutes on pass one” is actionable.
Score papers correctly
Use the marking scheme for the relevant year and paper. JEE Main patterns have changed across years, so comparing raw totals without adjusting for question count can mislead. For 2026 Paper 1, both MCQs and numerical questions carried negative marking for incorrect responses.
Solutions and answer keys
Official final keys determine the examination result. Third-party solutions can help explain methods but may contain errors or use a different paper ID. Match date, shift, question ID and final key before diagnosing performance.
Combine paper practice with the official syllabus, exam pattern and preparation framework.
