JEE Main 2026 exam pattern
Paper 1 is a three-hour CBT with 75 questions worth 300 marks. Each PCM subject has 20 MCQs and five numerical-value questions. Both types use +4 for correct and −1 for incorrect responses, with zero for unanswered questions. The numerical section is not the old optional five-out-of-ten format.
Use the pattern for the specific programme and year when practising. A subject list does not establish marks, penalties or a time limit unless those are separately stated.
