Mining Machinery Engineering Entrance Exams

Admission depends on programme level. JEE Main, JEE Advanced, state engineering tests, CUET-UG or institute processes can apply to BTech. Diploma admission uses state polytechnic routes, while GATE is important for MTech.

JEE Main and JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is used for undergraduate admission to IITs after the JEE Main qualification stage. JEE Main is used for NITs and several other institutes. Candidates must check whether Mining Machinery Engineering appears in the current seat matrix.

State and university undergraduate examinations

State systems may use MHT CET, WBJEE, KCET, KEAM, AP EAPCET, TG EAPCET, TNEA based on qualifying marks, or another notified process. Some universities use CUET-UG, their own test or merit.

GATE for Mining Machinery postgraduate routes

GATE has no paper titled Mining Machinery Engineering. A relevant MTech may accept Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another paper stated in its current admission notice. Institutes can also use an interview or written test; IIT offers may use COAP and participating NIT programmes commonly use CCMT.

Sponsored and part-time admission

Sponsored or part-time candidates may need relevant employment and professional experience. A three-year part-time example may use an institutional entrance or approved merit route. Such candidates may not receive the same assistantship as regular GATE-qualified students.

Lateral-entry exams

States conduct separate diploma-to-degree entrance or counselling. Diploma candidates should follow the current technical-education notice.

Preparation strategy

Undergraduate candidates should build Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics fundamentals and practise the format of their target examination. GATE candidates should cover engineering mathematics, geology, mine development, methods, ventilation, machinery, surveying, rock mechanics, environment and safety.

Cutoff caution

Cutoffs vary by round, category, quota and year. Candidates should avoid comparing ranks from different examinations directly.
