Mock-test analysis framework

For every mock of the applicable entrance paper, record attempted, correct, incorrect, unattempted, raw score under the confirmed marking scheme, time by section and confidence. Then classify every lost mark. “Careless” is too vague; write the exact action: missed a negative sign, read “incorrect” as “correct”, copied a value wrongly, selected an answer before finishing, or spent too long on one item.

Re-solve wrong and uncertain questions without seeing the solution. If the second attempt succeeds, the issue may be time or attention. If it fails, revisit the concept. Reattempt the same question after several days to confirm retention. A rising mock average is useful, but stable accuracy and fewer repeated errors are stronger evidence of readiness.

Do not compare raw scores across mocks of very different difficulty as though they were identical. Track percentage accuracy within subjects and the number of easy questions missed. If the official exam uses negative marking, guessing policy must be based on eliminated options and risk—not emotion. Where scoring is unconfirmed, check the current candidate instructions before using a mock score to compare performance.
