The category-wise application charge, late fee and counselling deposits must be taken from the JET 2026 booklet and the live candidate portal. The late charge was ₹500. Candidates must not copy the separate Pre-PG or Ph.D. fee table into a JET UG application.

A safe application sequence is: open the authority’s official page; read the notification; register with a private email address and active mobile number; verify contact details; enter personal and academic information; select the correct programme or group; upload readable files; review every field; pay through the displayed gateway; and download both the completed form and receipt. Keep the application number outside the mailbox as well.

Use scans that show the entire document, including seals, borders and signatures. Crop only empty surroundings. The photograph should be recent and recognisable, and the signature should match the applicant’s normal signature. File format, pixel dimensions and size limits must follow the portal. After payment, verify that the status changes to successful; a bank debit alone may not prove application completion.

If a payment fails, save the time, reference number and screenshot. Check the portal before paying again and contact the official helpdesk when needed. Do not share passwords or one-time passwords with agents. A promise of a guaranteed rank, scholarship, branch or back-door seat is a warning sign.

Documents to prepare

Prepare the Class 10 certificate, qualifying-examination mark sheets, recent photograph, signature, identity proof, application and payment receipt. Add category, residence, income, disability, transfer, migration, conduct, diploma or equivalence documents only where the relevant rule requires them. Keep original files, compressed upload copies and printable copies in separate folders.

Create a document index containing filename, issuing authority, issue date, expiry date if any, and the admission stage where it is needed. This small step prevents an applicant from uploading an outdated certificate during counselling. Never create or alter a document to satisfy a condition. If an expected certificate is delayed, obtain written guidance from the authority before the deadline.
