VIT B.Tech fee structure 2026-27
Vellore Institute of Technology’s official UG fee structure lists B.Tech tuition through a two-part classification: Group A, Group B or Group C, followed by fee category 0-5. Applicants should therefore identify both the group assigned to their chosen programme and the category obtained through the admission process. These are annual tuition figures for 2026-27, not complete residential costs. Category 1 begins at ₹1,73,000 for Group A, ₹1,95,000 for Group B and ₹2,07,000 for Group C. Across categories 1-5, Group A has the lowest tuition in each corresponding category, while Group B has the highest. Category 0 shows ₹0 tuition for all three groups, but this should not be read as a zero-cost year because other applicable charges remain separate.
A one-time refundable caution deposit of ₹5,000 is collected with first-year tuition. Thus, students should add ₹5,000 to the applicable first-year tuition figure when estimating the tuition-side payment. The deposit is not an annually recurring tuition charge. Fee caution: Do not compare VIT offers using the category number alone. “Category 2” produces different tuition in Group A, Group B and Group C, and the ₹5,000 caution deposit plus hostel and mess charges must not be mistaken for part of annual tuition.
Hostel and mess costs are separate
The table does not include accommodation or food. Vellore hostel and mess charges must be taken from the applicable official 2026-27 hostel-fee PDF. Residential cost can depend on the option shown in that schedule, so it should be added only after selecting the relevant hostel and mess combination. Students can also review the VIT hostel section.
