Check Class 12 subjects, Mathematics, marks, diploma routes, postgraduate prerequisites and programme-specific entry rules.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Eligibility
Eligibility depends on degree type, institution, state and admission route.
B.Tech AI and ML Eligibility
Many B.Tech programmes require candidates to:
- complete Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board;
- study Physics and Mathematics as compulsory or accepted subjects;
- study one additional permitted subject;
- obtain the prescribed aggregate marks; and
- qualify the applicable entrance examination or merit process.
Current college listings commonly show minimum marks around 45 per cent, with relaxation for eligible reserved categories. Other universities may require 50, 60 or a higher percentage.
Some institutions describe a broader approved subject combination, while others specifically require Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates must check the official programme notice.
BSc AI and ML Eligibility
BSc programmes commonly require Class 12 with Mathematics. Accepted streams may include Science or another stream with Mathematics, Computer Science or Statistics.
Admission may use:
- CUET UG;
- university entrance test;
- Class 12 merit; or
- an interview.
BCA AI and ML Eligibility
Some BCA programmes accept students from any stream, while others require Mathematics, Computer Applications or Computer Science.
Students without Mathematics may need additional preparation in probability, linear algebra and calculus.
Diploma and Certificate Eligibility
Beginner courses may accept Class 10 or Class 12 students. Advanced certificates may require:
- graduation;
- Python programming;
- Statistics;
- computer-science fundamentals; or
- work experience.
M.Tech AI and ML Eligibility
Applicants generally require a relevant BE, B.Tech or equivalent qualification in:
- Computer Science and Engineering;
- Information Technology;
- Artificial Intelligence;
- AI and Machine Learning;
- Data Science;
- Electronics and Communication;
- Electrical Engineering; or
- another accepted branch.
A GATE score may be required for admission or financial assistance.
MSc AI and ML Eligibility
MSc applicants may need a bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science;
- Information Technology;
- Mathematics;
- Statistics;
- Artificial Intelligence;
- Data Science;
- Electronics; or
- a related field.
Universities may require Mathematics and programming at the undergraduate level.
Lateral-Entry Eligibility
Eligible candidates may enter the second year of selected B.Tech programmes after completing:
- an engineering diploma;
- a BSc with Mathematics;
- a D.Voc in an allied area; or
- another qualification accepted under university rules.
Minimum marks, entrance tests and available seats vary.
PhD Eligibility
PhD admission normally requires a relevant postgraduate degree. Selection may include:
- written examination;
- national-level score;
- interview;
- research proposal;
- academic record;
- programming assessment; and
- faculty-research alignment.
Documents Required for Admission
Candidates may need:
- Class 10 certificate;
- Class 12 marksheet;
- diploma records;
- graduation marksheets;
- postgraduate degree records;
- entrance-examination scorecard;
- counselling allotment letter;
- transfer certificate;
- migration certificate;
- identity proof;
- category certificate;
- domicile certificate;
- income certificate;
- passport-size photographs;
- disability certificate;
- work-experience proof; and
- statement of purpose for selected programmes.
