Ceramic Engineering Entrance Exams

The main national examinations are JEE Main and JEE Advanced. State and institutional routes apply to selected colleges.

JEE Main

JEE Main Paper 1 is used for NIT Rourkela and can be accepted by other institutions. It also determines eligibility to appear for JEE Advanced under current rules.

JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is required for admission to IIT (BHU) Ceramic Engineering. Only eligible JEE Main candidates can appear. Seats are allocated through JoSAA using rank and preferences.

JoSAA counselling

JoSAA manages seat allocation for IITs, NITs and other participating institutions. Candidates register, fill choices, receive allotments and complete reporting. IIT and NIT admissions use different qualifying examinations within the same counselling framework.

CSAB special rounds

CSAB may fill vacant NIT and other participating seats after JoSAA. It does not provide a route into IIT seats. Separate registration and fee rules apply.

State counselling

Rajasthan institutions may use JEE Main and state counselling according to current rules. Candidates should confirm domicile, category and application requirements.

GATE

GATE is relevant for many MTech programmes. Accepted papers can include Ceramic Engineering or related disciplines depending on the institution. A valid score may support admission and assistance.

Preparation strategy

UG candidates should strengthen Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, solve previous papers and take timed mocks. They should prepare for the actual target route: JEE Advanced requires a different depth from a state counselling process based on JEE Main.

Cutoff caution

Cutoffs change across years, rounds and categories. Candidates should not publish or use one rank without its round, category and gender pool. Current counselling data is final.
