Manufacturing Science and Engineering Eligibility

Eligibility differs by institution and admission authority. Current official brochures are final.

B.Tech eligibility

Candidates commonly need Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects plus Chemistry, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational or another approved subject. Many systems prescribe 45 per cent, with relaxation under applicable rules, while institutions can require higher marks.

Institute-specific requirements

For the exact undergraduate title at COEP Technological University, candidates should follow the current Maharashtra engineering eligibility and counselling rules. Admission may consider MHT CET and the applicable JEE Main route, subject to the year's seat matrix and candidate category.

Applicants should not copy one college's subject or marks rule to another.

Diploma and lateral entry

Eligible diploma holders in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Automobile, Tool Engineering or related branches may join the second year where permitted. Minimum marks, entrance and seats vary.

Some systems accept eligible B.Sc graduates with Mathematics and bridge study. Candidates should confirm whether the exact branch has lateral-entry seats.

M.Tech eligibility

M.Tech Manufacturing commonly accepts BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Automobile, Industrial, Mechatronics or another specified discipline. Minimum marks typically range from 50 to 60 per cent.

Exact-title postgraduate programmes at BMS College of Engineering and Ramaiah Institute of Technology require an eligible engineering degree under their current rules. Selection may use GATE, Karnataka PGCET or the applicable institute and state process.

GATE paper

Mechanical Engineering is a common relevant GATE paper, but each programme specifies accepted degrees and papers. Production and Industrial Engineering may also be relevant where explicitly accepted.

Mathematics and Physics preparation

Mathematics supports mechanics, optimisation, statistics and control. Physics supports forces, heat, material behaviour and measurement. Computer skills increasingly support design and automation.

Medical and safety considerations

Workshop and plant activity may involve machinery, heat, fumes and lifting. Students must follow safety procedures. Institutions should provide reasonable support and proper controls rather than relying only on personal protective equipment.

Documents required

Common documents include Class 10 and 12 records, entrance score, identity proof, photographs, domicile and category certificates, transfer or migration certificate and medical forms. PG candidates need degree records and GATE details.
