IMU CET

IMU CET tests the areas prescribed for the current maritime admission cycle. Applicants should track registration, admit card, result and counselling dates and verify the participating programme before preference filling. Course application: vessel design.

Institute tests and interviews

Institute tests, interviews or medical checks apply only where the current prospectus requires them. They should not be imported from a Marine Engineering admission process into Naval Architecture. IMU applicants should follow the current IMU CET and programme rules.

State examinations

An old college page may mention a state examination or JEE score. Candidates must confirm that the route remains valid for the current approved intake and is compatible with the intended seagoing pathway. Course application: vessel design.

GATE for academic postgraduate study

GATE may be used for MTech or research-oriented engineering admission. It is not a substitute for IMU CET in a pre-sea BTech route or for professional competency requirements. Course application: vessel design.

CEETA/TANCET and institute routes

Tamil Nadu postgraduate engineering uses the current state process. Private institutions may use GATE, tests or merit.

Preparation strategy

UG candidates should follow the official PCM syllabus and practise timed questions. PG candidates should prepare Mechanical or another accepted GATE paper and revise marine fundamentals. Course application: vessel design.
