Test application fees and centre selection

For centres covered by the ordinary Indian fee table, the brochure lists ₹3,600 for a single session for male candidates and ₹3,100 for female or transgender candidates. Both sessions cost ₹5,600 and ₹4,600 respectively. The additional second-session amounts are ₹2,000 and ₹1,500. Overseas-centre charges are separate and should not be replaced by the Indian-centre figures.

These are test application fees. They should not be confused with admission fees, semester tuition, hostel charges or any amount payable after an offer. When comparing the cost of one and two attempts, use the complete applicable fee row and the selected centre arrangement. A headline fee quoted without its session and category context is incomplete.

For centre preferences, choose locations that the candidate can realistically reach. A city preference is not a guarantee of a particular building, and the operating dates depend on the final arrangements. Slot reservation is a separate step in the published process. If a candidate does not reserve a slot within the permitted period, the brochure describes system allocation based on preferences and availability.

After slot allocation, plan from the issued hall ticket. Check the session, date, reporting time and exact address. Two cities or institutions with similar names can lead to costly travel mistakes. A calendar entry should include the reporting requirement, not only the nominal examination start. The candidate also needs the documents and materials permitted in the actual instructions.

Application and identity checks

Use the official application route and keep the registration details accessible throughout the cycle. Enter the candidate's own enduring contact details where required. Important communication may continue through results and admission, long after the initial form is completed. A number or email controlled only by a temporary form-filling service can make later corrections and password recovery difficult.

Compare the name, date of birth and educational details with the original records. Where the records themselves differ, establish the authorised way to support or correct the discrepancy. Do not solve the problem by using a different spelling on each document. Consistency matters because identity information collected during the examination can be checked again at admission.

Review the uploaded photograph and signature after submission if the portal provides a preview. A technically accepted file can still be blurred, inverted or assigned to the wrong person. Save the completed form and payment acknowledgement. If payment is debited but the portal status is unresolved, preserve the transaction reference and seek resolution rather than assuming that the debit alone completes registration.
