Two-year M.Plan structure

The first semester often establishes urban planning theory, history, ecology, development patterns, representation and site systems. Studios introduce analysis across natural and cultural layers.

Later semesters address complex urban, regional, infrastructural or ecological planning regions. Research methods, professional practice and electives support specialisation. The final stage normally includes thesis or a major design-research project.

Studio workload

Studio is central. Students survey, map, develop alternatives, attend reviews and revise proposals. Work includes plans, sections, grading, land-use, details, models, visualisations and reports.

Field conditions and seasonal observation add time. Students need schedules that allow research and iteration rather than producing drawings immediately before a jury.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork may include vegetation surveys, user observation, soil or water study, measured drawings and institutional visits. Students must obtain permission, follow safety rules and handle community information ethically.

Internship and thesis

Some programmes include internship or professional engagement. Thesis allows a student to define a site and research question, analyse systems and produce a defensible proposal. Scope must be realistic for the available time and data.
