Use the official postgraduate application route and select the intended programme before payment. The reference application page displays ₹600 for postgraduate engineering, whereas permitted secondary 2026 coverage lists ₹1,200. The official reference page contains placeholder and inconsistent material elsewhere, so this review cannot certify one universal PG application amount from those conflicting displays.

The practical resolution is to inspect the selected programme's actual payment screen and obtain confirmation if it differs from the published reference. Save the amount, application identifier and receipt. This is a better basis for an individual transaction than a guide silently choosing the lower or higher figure without explaining the discrepancy.

Application charges should be kept separate from admission deposits, semester tuition and hostel payments. A successful application payment does not necessarily create an offer, and a tuition payment should not be described as another examination fee. Correct labels make later reconciliation and any cancellation request easier.

If the payment is debited but the form remains incomplete, retain the transaction details and use the official support process. Avoid repeated payments made only because the screen has not refreshed. The university or payment provider may need the reference to determine whether the first transaction was received.

Documents and communications for postgraduate applicants

A postgraduate application usually draws on a larger academic record than an undergraduate application. Prepare the documents requested by the live form, including relevant degree records and entrance results, with readable pages and consistent names. File requirements should be taken from the current portal rather than copied from an older article's image-size table.

If the name differs between a degree certificate and identity record, explain the discrepancy using the required supporting evidence. Do not alter a certificate image to make the names match. The correct route is documentary clarification through the admission process.

Keep a correspondence log with the date, question and response. This is especially useful when resolving the GAT exemption, fee discrepancy or branch eligibility. A response saying only that admissions are open does not answer whether a particular undergraduate qualification is accepted for a particular M.Tech programme.

For employed applicants, determine whether the selected mode requires employer permission, release from duties or other evidence. Do not assume that a regular programme can be attended around full-time work without checking attendance and timetable requirements. The academic mode and employment arrangement must be compatible in practice.
