Turning the subject list into a learning plan

Until a complete programme-specific syllabus is obtained, treat a PCM revision outline as preparation guidance rather than a certified list of every examinable chapter. The examples below build school-level engineering entrance skills. They do not claim official chapter weightage, guaranteed question frequency or that a particular topic must appear in a session.

Start with a diagnostic set covering algebra, calculus, mechanics, electricity and core chemical calculations. Work without solutions first. Record whether each error arose from missing knowledge, choosing the wrong relation, calculation or reading. The result should determine what is revised next; simply beginning at the first chapter of every textbook may waste time on already secure material.

Separate a topic's basic method from mixed application. A student might solve a direct quadratic equation correctly but fail when the equation is hidden inside a motion problem. That student needs translation practice as well as algebra. Another student who cannot factor the equation reliably needs a more basic repair before attempting long mixed sets.

Use short retrieval sessions between longer problem-solving blocks. Recalling an identity, definition or condition without looking at the page helps reveal what is actually remembered. However, retrieval should be followed by application: knowing a formula's symbols is not the same as recognising when the formula is valid.
