Advanced Manufacturing Eligibility

Undergraduate Eligibility

A typical B.E. or B.Tech pathway may require candidates to:

• Pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
• Study Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
• Study Chemistry or another accepted subject under the applicable regulations.
• Obtain the minimum aggregate and subject-wise marks.
• Qualify for the required entrance examination.
• Meet counselling and institutional admission conditions.

Many undergraduate routes require Physics and Mathematics with Chemistry or another accepted subject and a specified minimum aggregate. The exact percentage and subject combination are not universal and may differ by institution and admission authority.

Postgraduate Eligibility

Because Advanced Manufacturing is commonly a postgraduate specialisation, applicants generally need:

• A recognised B.E. or B.Tech degree.
• A degree in a discipline accepted by the institution.
• The required minimum marks or CGPA.
• A valid GATE score where applicable.
• Performance in an institutional test or interview, if required.
• Completion of all bachelor’s degree requirements before admission.

Commonly accepted or related undergraduate disciplines may include:

Not every institution accepts every listed branch. Students must check the approved eligibility list for the exact specialisation.

Diploma Eligibility

Diploma admission requirements depend on the state, institution and programme. A conventional engineering diploma may require Class 10 or Class 12, depending on the entry route.

Diploma holders may also be eligible for lateral entry into certain undergraduate programmes, subject to:

• Diploma discipline
• Minimum marks
• Entrance examination
• Seat availability
• State regulations
• Institutional approval

B.Voc Eligibility

Vocational programmes can have broader entry requirements than engineering degrees. Some three-year B.Voc pathways may accept Class 12 students, eligible ITI graduates or certain diploma holders. This must not be treated as the universal requirement for every B.Voc programme.

Integrated Programme Eligibility

An integrated B.Tech and M.Tech programme generally begins after Class 12 and may take approximately five years. Students should verify whether the programme is currently active.

A previously listed integrated Advanced Manufacturing programme at SASTRA University was marked discontinued from July 2022. It should not be presented as currently available unless a new official admission notice confirms its return.

Doctoral Eligibility

PhD admission commonly requires:

• A relevant master’s degree or another qualification accepted by the institution.
• Minimum marks or CGPA.
• A written examination or recognised national qualification.
• An interview.
• A suitable research proposal or area.
• Availability of a supervisor and research facilities.

Some institutions may admit exceptionally qualified bachelor’s graduates to direct doctoral programmes.
