Entrance Examinations and Preparation
GATE is the main national route because exact Advanced Manufacturing programmes are more common at postgraduate level. Undergraduate examinations should be used only when a current seat matrix connects them to an exact undergraduate or integrated course.

Why general undergraduate exam lists are misleading
JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT CET, WBJEE, KCET, AP EAPCET, TS EAPCET and GUJCET provide routes to many engineering degrees. They should not be presented as Advanced Manufacturing examinations unless a current participating institution and seat matrix show the exact undergraduate programme. Students interested in this field can first study Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial, Mechatronics or a related branch and later specialise, but that is a different claim.
Preparation priorities
For postgraduate selection, revise engineering mathematics, manufacturing processes, materials, metrology, machine tools, strength of materials, theory of machines, thermodynamics, industrial engineering, operations research and basic design. Follow the official examination syllabus and then prepare separately for any interview, where applicants may need to explain a project, manufacturing decision, measurement method or research interest.
