Check Class 12 subjects, Mathematics, marks, diploma routes, postgraduate prerequisites and programme-specific entry rules.
Man-Made Fibre Technology Eligibility
Candidates must verify UPTTI, UPTAC and university conditions for the current admission year.
B.Tech eligibility
Applicants generally need to pass Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and an approved third subject, often Chemistry. The prescribed aggregate, individual subject and entrance conditions follow current engineering rules.
Minimum marks may commonly be around 45 per cent with relaxation under applicable categories, but institutions can prescribe different thresholds. JEE Main rank and counselling determine allotment after eligibility is met.
Diploma eligibility
Diploma in Textile Technology (Manmade Fibre) commonly requires Class 10 or SSLC from a recognised board. Some systems prescribe Mathematics, Science and a minimum aggregate.
Admission may use state polytechnic counselling or merit. Candidates should verify whether the award is recognised and whether lateral progression to B.Tech is available.
Lateral-entry eligibility
Eligible diploma holders may apply for direct second-year engineering admission under state rules. Accepted diploma branches, marks, entrance route and seats vary.
A diploma in Textile Technology, Manmade Fibre, Textile Chemistry or another relevant branch may be considered, but acceptance must be confirmed for the exact programme.
M.Tech eligibility
Related M.Tech programmes may accept BE/B.Tech in Man-Made Fibre, Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Textile Chemistry, Fibre Technology, Polymer, Chemical or another specified field.
Some part-time Textile Engineering programmes have listed Man-Made Fibre among accepted degrees. Full-time programmes may require 50–60 per cent, GATE and a specific branch background.
PhD eligibility
Doctoral routes normally require an accepted master's degree, entrance or exemption and research interview. Students should identify a supervisor and laboratory aligned with polymer, fibre or textile research.
Importance of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics
Chemistry supports polymer reactions, solvents, additives, dyes and degradation. Physics supports mechanics, heat, flow, electricity and material testing. Mathematics supports balances, rheology, process control and statistics.
Medical and safety considerations
Fibre plants may involve hot polymer, pressure, moving machinery, solvents, chemicals, noise and fine material. Institutions must provide safety controls and training. Students should seek appropriate support for health conditions or chemical sensitivity.
Documents required
Common documents include Class 10 and 12 records, JEE Main score, identity proof, photographs, domicile and category certificates, income or fee-waiver documents and transfer or migration certificate.
Diploma and PG applicants need complete prior qualification records. Candidates awaiting results should check provisional conditions.
