Institutions and available seats

The prospectus contains institution and branch information, including Bihar engineering colleges such as MIT Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur College of Engineering, Gaya College of Engineering and Darbhanga College of Engineering. Their appearance in a broad prospectus list does not establish a vacancy in every branch during a later BCECE round. For an actual preference list, use the seat matrix attached to the relevant engineering counselling process.

Intake, vacancy and allotment answer different questions. Intake describes the authorised or published capacity; vacancy describes seats available at a particular stage; allotment records an outcome for a candidate. A large intake figure cannot tell an applicant how many seats remain after earlier admission rounds. Always retain the date and round label when comparing vacancy documents, because an updated matrix can change the choices realistically available.

The institution code and branch code deserve as much attention as their names. Similar campus names, abbreviations or newer specialisations can produce an incorrect selection when a candidate relies on memory. Prepare preferences using the exact labels displayed in counselling. The final saved choice list should identify the course the student would genuinely join, rather than a loosely similar title recognised from a general college directory.
