Reading the 2026–27 fee table

The official admission page publishes annual programme fees for 2026–27. Selected entries are shown below so that applicants can see the difference between branches. These are annual listed programme figures, not an all-inclusive cost of attendance or a promise that the same amount will apply unchanged throughout the degree.

Programme Listed annual fee, 2026–27
Civil Engineering ₹2,00,000
Mechanical Engineering ₹2,00,000
Aerospace Engineering ₹3,00,000
Electronics and Communication Engineering ₹3,25,000
Computer Science Engineering ₹3,50,000
CSE, AI and Data Science with UPGRAD Campus ₹3,75,000

Before committing to a programme, obtain the applicable written fee schedule and identify what it includes. Accommodation, meals, transport, deposits and other charges can affect the total budget. A branch's annual figure should not be described as the complete four-year cost merely by multiplying it by four. That calculation omits both possible additional charges and any future fee provisions.

An original budgeting illustration can make the distinction concrete without asserting university charges. If a family's planning estimate combines a ₹3,50,000 annual programme fee with ₹1,20,000 for living and travel, the provisional annual budget becomes ₹4,70,000. The second figure is hypothetical and must be replaced with the family's actual arrangements. The purpose is to separate the confirmed institutional amount from a personal planning estimate.

Scholarships and affordability

A scholarship should be included in the budget only after its amount, eligibility and continuation conditions are established in writing. A statement that awards are available does not identify what one applicant will receive. Entrance rank, qualifying marks, category or other conditions may be relevant to a particular scheme, but this article does not invent a scholarship slab or promise a discount.

Ask whether an award reduces tuition only, whether it applies for one year or multiple years and what academic performance is required to retain it. Also establish how the award interacts with other concessions. A first-year reduction can be useful while still leaving a substantial later cost. A realistic plan considers the amount payable if the award is not renewed.

For families considering education finance, compare the timing of required payments with the timing of any loan disbursement or other funding. An admission deadline may arrive before a financing process is complete. Keep the institution's payment schedule and the lender's requirements separate so that one is not assumed to guarantee the other. This is a planning consideration, not a recommendation for a particular financial product.

Discuss a sustainable upper budget before ordering programme preferences or accepting an offer. This allows the student to compare options calmly rather than making an urgent decision after a deadline notice. The discussion should include recurring expenses and a reasonable allowance for unexpected costs. Affordability is part of choosing a programme that the student can complete successfully.

Document verification and joining

Keep academic documents organised by stage: school records, final qualifying marks, any accepted equivalence or conversion document and the identity evidence requested for admission. Add the application, examination record, offer and payment acknowledgements. The final list should follow the university's actual instructions, since a generic document checklist may omit a candidate-specific requirement.

Where originals are inspected or retained under an institutional procedure, obtain the appropriate acknowledgement. Keep copies for future reference, but do not assume that a photocopy automatically replaces an original when verification requires one. If an issuing board has delayed a document, raise the problem with evidence and seek an authorised arrangement rather than submitting an altered or unofficial substitute.

At joining, establish how the student receives the timetable, registration details, orientation information and access to academic systems. Admission administration and academic registration can involve separate steps. A student who has paid a fee may still need to complete course registration or submit a final document. Record the remaining actions and their deadlines before treating the process as finished.

Withdrawal and refund questions

The official admission page includes a refund-policy section linked to the timing of withdrawal relative to the formally notified admission closing date. Before making a payment, obtain the policy applicable to the candidate's admission and identify the controlling date. Do not assume that an application deadline and a final admission closing date are the same event.

If withdrawal becomes necessary, submit it through the prescribed channel and retain an acknowledgement showing when it was received. A verbal conversation may not establish the date used for processing. Keep the payment receipts and offer details together so that the amount and basis of the request can be checked. Any deductions or excluded charges should come from the applicable written terms.

This review does not reproduce a universal refund promise for every payment or situation. Application fees, admission deposits, tuition and accommodation charges may have different treatment. The useful comparison is the specific payment against the specific applicable condition. If the wording is unclear, ask a precise question about that payment and obtain a written response before relying on an assumption.

Applicant scenarios and final decisions

A PCB student wants a general CSE programme. The Bio Engineering subject alternative should not be extended to CSE merely because both are B.Tech degrees. The student needs the actual Mathematics-based eligibility provision or a separately authorised route. A high entrance score cannot by itself remove a required qualifying subject.

A candidate adds Mathematics and Biology as two full sections. That produces an incorrect 130-question interpretation. The published hundred-question structure uses the applicable alternative alongside English, Physics and Chemistry. Preparation should follow the registered route, so the candidate does not spend the final weeks on a subject that is not part of the assigned paper.

A student assumes online means an unsupervised home test. The mode label does not establish location, equipment or supervision. The issued session instructions control those arrangements. Establish them before the examination day, when a mistaken assumption may leave too little time to travel or complete a required technical setup.

An offer mentions a specialisation with a different annual fee. Compare the exact programme title with the fee table and the written offer. A general CSE figure should not automatically be applied to every associated specialisation. Ask for a corrected or clarified schedule if the documents disagree, rather than paying an amount inferred from a similar course name.

A provisional applicant has not yet passed the qualifying examination. The pending status must be resolved according to the admission conditions. Being allowed to apply does not establish that the student can join without the required result. Plan document availability early and keep the institution informed through its authorised process.
