Understanding the 100-question paper
The published pattern describes a three-hour paper with 100 questions and a maximum of 100 marks. English contributes ten questions, while Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or the applicable Biology option contribute thirty each. Each correct response earns one mark, and the reported scheme has no negative marking. Mathematics and Biology are alternatives in the relevant route, not two additional thirty-question sections to be added together.

The overall average is 1.8 minutes per question. That average is a planning reference, not a requirement to spend equal time everywhere. A direct vocabulary item may need much less time, while a calculation can take more. Practise a sequence that lets the candidate secure straightforward marks before committing several minutes to one unresolved problem.
No negative marking changes the final review strategy, but it does not remove the value of reasoning. An answer selected after eliminating implausible options is generally better informed than an immediate random choice. First solve accessible questions, then use remaining time for harder items and unanswered questions. Spending excessive time on an early difficult item can still cost marks elsewhere even without a penalty for errors.
