CITKEE Counselling

CITKEE 2026: Counselling. 2026 information reviewed on 25 September; retain the stated verification limits.

Counselling forms and branch preferences

The portal provides separate counselling forms for different programme and entry groups. Use the form corresponding to the candidate's route. A direct-entry form and a lateral/vertical form serve different processes, so copying a friend's completed form can introduce errors even when both applicants want B.Tech admission.

List branches in the order you would actually accept them, subject to the process's instructions. Consider the curriculum, your willingness to study it and practical constraints. A preference should not be raised merely because it sounds prestigious if you would decline the offer and lose an opportunity you genuinely wanted.

The prospectus requires the candidate's presence during counselling, with a parent or guardian allowed only in exceptional cases under permission. Do not assume that another person can attend automatically. If attendance is genuinely impossible, obtain the authorised arrangement before the reporting date.

Prepare the required payment method and documents in advance. The prospectus links admission payment to the counselling day for selected candidates. A family that can afford the programme but cannot complete the required transaction at the specified stage can still face a preventable problem.

Verification documents and claims

The counselling document list includes age evidence, marksheets, category certificates where applicable, permanent-residence evidence, character or conduct documentation, migration and gap records where required, and the prescribed anti-ragging documentation. Use the current route-specific list to determine the exact originals and copies needed.

Medical fitness and a separate eye-fitness certificate are also addressed in the prospectus. Do not treat an ordinary fitness note as automatically satisfying both requirements. Check the prescribed issuing authority and format before obtaining a document, particularly if arranging it involves travel or expense.

Candidates in government service are instructed to provide a no-objection certificate. This condition is relevant to the applicants it describes, rather than a universal requirement for every school student. A useful checklist marks conditional items clearly instead of making everyone collect unnecessary documents.

Consistency matters between the application, counselling form and original records. If a genuine error is discovered, disclose it through the official correction route. Repeating an incorrect declaration in a later form does not solve the original discrepancy and may complicate verification further.

The undergraduate fee structure

The official B.Tech/B.Des fee page separates one-time institutional charges, refundable deposits, semester academic charges and hostel charges. The semester academic total is ₹21,500 for the listed General/OBC arrangement, including ₹12,000 tuition. Tuition is therefore only one component of the semester amount.

Fresh-admission category Non-hosteller total Hosteller total before separately listed mess charge
General/OBC ₹30,500 ₹38,500
SC/ST/PWD ₹18,500 ₹26,500

The SC/ST/PWD figures remove the ₹12,000 tuition component under the published schedule. They do not remove every institutional charge. Describing the concession as completely free study would misrepresent the remaining fees and the separate cost of living.

The institutional one-time non-refundable total is ₹5,000, with institute caution money of ₹4,000 shown separately as refundable. Hostel admission-related one-time charges total ₹500, hostel caution money is ₹2,000, and recurring hostel charges total ₹5,500 per semester. Read each component under its own refund and payment conditions.

Mess charges and continuing-semester costs

The prospectus lists a mess charge of ₹14,000 per semester separately. Adding that figure to the fresh hosteller totals gives an illustrative initial institutional-and-mess amount of ₹52,500 for General/OBC and ₹40,500 for SC/ST/PWD, before personal expenses and any other separately applicable items.

This calculation should not be relabelled tuition. It combines several different kinds of charges, including refundable deposits and accommodation-related amounts. Keeping them separate helps a family understand what recurs, what may be returned under conditions and what relates specifically to hostel residence.

For continuing students, the official fee page lists ₹21,500 for General/OBC non-hostellers and ₹27,000 for hostellers before mess. The corresponding SC/ST/PWD figures are ₹9,500 and ₹15,000. Future payment should still follow the applicable invoice and any officially revised schedule.

A four-year budget should not multiply the fresh-admission amount by eight. That would repeat one-time charges and deposits. Build the estimate from initial components, recurring semesters, separately listed meals and realistic personal costs, while stating any assumption that current rates remain unchanged.

Hostel, travel and the first semester

Admission to a programme and allotment of a hostel place should be documented separately. Confirm the accommodation process, reporting arrangements and actual charge demand. A hosteller fee table shows a cost structure; it does not by itself establish that a particular applicant has already received a room.

Plan the journey using the reporting notice and campus address, with enough time for the required activities. If several family members travel, distinguish their accommodation needs from the student's hostel arrangement. Keep important documents accessible rather than buried in luggage that may be difficult to retrieve during verification.

For the first semester, revise the school foundations most relevant to the chosen programme and develop a workable routine for lectures, practice and laboratory preparation. The aim is to arrive ready to learn, not to attempt the whole degree syllabus before classes begin.

Ask about required equipment through the programme's joining instructions before making major purchases. A device useful for one student's work may not be compulsory for every first-year student. Separating essential requirements from optional preferences helps avoid spending admission funds prematurely.

Withdrawal, changes and keeping a complete record

If another offer changes the decision, use the institute's published withdrawal process and the terms applicable to the actual admission. Keep the submission acknowledgement and payment records. This article does not replace those terms with a general promise that all fees will be returned.

A request to change a branch, route or category should be treated as a formal matter governed by the process. An informal conversation or a message from another applicant does not establish approval. Retain the written decision and ensure that the final admission record shows the correct programme.

Keep a compact admission file containing the submitted application, payment proof, result, counselling form, offer, receipts and any authorised corrections. The purpose is to reconstruct what was accepted and when. This is especially useful when different steps are completed through separate systems or offices.

Once admission is acknowledged, follow the joining and attendance instructions rather than assuming that payment alone permits an indefinite delayed arrival. If a genuine problem affects reporting, contact the authorised office promptly with the relevant details and request the procedure that applies.

Applicant situations that require different decisions

A conventional school-leaving applicant with a clear subject combination should focus on direct-entry qualification, age, the correct entrance channel and the four-subject preparation plan. The main preparation risk is neglecting English or treating the paper as an unverified fixed question distribution copied from another examination.

An applicant with an unusual school-subject combination should resolve the ambiguous eligibility clause before relying on an expected score. More mock practice cannot answer that administrative question. A written branch-specific clarification using the actual marksheet is the appropriate evidence for deciding whether to proceed under that route.

An external diploma holder should evaluate lateral-entry eligibility and its own paper, rather than assume the internal vertical scheme applies. A CIT diploma student may have a different route under the stated conditions. Identifying that difference early prevents preparing for an unnecessary examination or missing a required one.

A JEE Main applicant must identify the regional and counselling channel relevant to the application. An institute score-submission obligation and a central counselling obligation are not interchangeable. The candidate should be able to name the authority considering the seat and show that its required steps are complete.
