Chemical Science and Technology Admission Process

The admission route is determined by the institution. IIT Guwahati uses JEE Advanced and JoSAA. NIT Mizoram uses JEE Main and JoSAA, with CSAB special rounds where applicable.

Admission to IIT Guwahati

Candidates register for JEE Main, qualify to appear for JEE Advanced and obtain a JEE Advanced rank. They then register for JoSAA, fill choices and include IIT Guwahati Chemical Science and Technology in the desired position.

Seat allocation depends on rank, category, gender pool, preference and availability. Candidates complete online reporting, document verification and fee payment.

Admission to NIT Mizoram

Candidates take JEE Main Paper 1 and receive a rank. They register for JoSAA and include NIT Mizoram Chemical Science and Technology in choice filling. Home-state and other-state rules apply.

Vacant seats may be offered through CSAB special rounds. Candidates must register separately and understand fees and withdrawal conditions.

First, verify Class 12 and entrance eligibility. Second, complete the examination application. Third, prepare and appear for the relevant test. Fourth, obtain the rank and register for counselling. Fifth, order choices. Finally, accept an allotment, verify documents and pay fees.

Choice-filling guidance

Students should compare Chemical Science and Technology with Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and other available branches before locking choices. They should choose based on academic interest, not only cutoff.

Cutoffs

Cutoffs vary by year, round, category and seat pool. Previous closing ranks show competition but do not predict an exact future result. Candidates should fill all genuinely preferred options.

JoSAA

JoSAA coordinates seat allocation for IITs, NITs and other participating institutes. Although one platform is used, IIT seats are based on JEE Advanced and NIT seats on JEE Main.

CSAB

CSAB special rounds generally address vacant seats in NITs and other participating institutes after JoSAA. They do not offer IIT seats. Separate registration and payment apply.

Document verification

Candidates submit academic, identity and category documents in the prescribed format. A seat can be cancelled if eligibility is not established, even when the rank is valid.

Seat acceptance

Counselling uses options such as freeze, float or slide under current rules. Candidates should understand them and meet every deadline.

Scholarships and fee remission

IITs and NITs provide category- and income-linked tuition support according to government and institutional rules. Other scholarships may be available through national and state portals.

Admission precautions

Use official examination, counselling and institute websites. Keep payment receipts and submitted forms. Do not use an agent for a guaranteed seat.
