AMUEEE 2026 counselling and admission

The AMU counselling process was conducted online through the university portal. It included registration, document upload, programme preferences, scrutiny, re-submission when a document was deficient, firm lists and acceptance of the offer. The first registration window ran from June 25 to June 27.

Counselling steps

Register and log in: Eligible candidates accessed the counselling portal within the round window. Test application alone was not enough.

Upload documents: Candidates uploaded clear scans of qualifying certificates, identity/date-of-birth proof and category documents. Every page and official seal had to be visible.

Submit choices: Candidates arranged available branches in true preference order. The system tries to allot the highest available choice permitted by merit and category. A candidate should not put an unwanted branch above a preferred one merely because its previous cut-off seemed safer.

Document verification: AMU scrutinised uploaded documents. Candidates monitored the portal for acceptance or deficiency remarks.

Re-submit, if required: A deficient scan or wrong certificate had to be replaced within the short re-submission period. Missing this day could remove the candidate from that round.

Check firm list: The university displayed firm lists. Candidates searched by roll number and noted the allotted branch and acceptance deadline.

Accept and pay: A candidate offered admission completed online acceptance and payment. A grace period with a fine was available in parts of the 2026 schedule, but students should never plan to use it.

Complete reporting: Candidates followed instructions for physical reporting, original verification, medical or registration formalities and hostel-related submissions.

Documents for admission

The reported admission document set included:

• Class 10/High School certificate for date of birth;
• Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate;
• transfer, migration and character certificates as applicable;
• recent colour photographs in the prescribed size;
• category and special-category originals;
• admit card, application form and result record;
• anti-ragging affidavits by candidate and parent/guardian;
• fee-payment evidence;
• self-addressed envelopes where required by the residence process; and
• other declarations or medical documents stated in the firm-list instructions.

The counselling article reported ten recent photographs, four self-attested copies of the qualifying marksheet, two anti-ragging affidavits and other AMU-specific items. Candidates should verify the final list in their own allotment notice because online and physical requirements can differ.

Choice filling strategy

List branches by genuine interest. Consider curriculum, aptitude, higher-study goals, likely career direction and willingness to study the branch for four years. Do not use salary headlines alone. Computer Engineering may attract strong demand, but Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Petrochemical Engineering lead to different technical domains and can be excellent choices for a student whose interests match.

If an upgrade option is offered, read what happens to the current seat. A candidate should understand whether accepting an upgrade keeps, freezes or releases the earlier allotment. Portal wording and official user guide are final.

What happens if a deadline is missed?

The offer can lapse, the candidate may lose the round, or a fine may apply during a specifically announced grace period. There is no general right to an extension because a student did not check the portal. Take screenshots and retain receipts whenever the system shows a technical error, then contact the official help desk before the deadline.
