AMUEEE 2026 syllabus
The B.Tech test assesses senior-secondary Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. AMU provides a syllabus section through the Controller/Result portal. Candidates should download the programme-specific syllabus instead of assuming that every topic from another engineering entrance test applies. NCERT Class 11 and 12 concepts are a sound foundation, but preparation should be mapped to the official AMU list.
Physics syllabus and preparation areas
The preparation framework includes units and measurements, vectors, kinematics, laws of motion, work-energy-power, rotational motion, gravitation, properties of bulk matter, thermodynamics, kinetic theory, oscillations, waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, alternating current, electromagnetic waves, ray and wave optics, dual nature, atoms, nuclei and semiconductor electronics.
Mechanics: Students should understand displacement, velocity and acceleration graphs; projectile motion; friction; circular motion; momentum and collisions; centre of mass; torque; moment of inertia; rolling motion; gravitation and satellites. Formula learning must be connected to sign convention and units.
Thermal physics: Prepare calorimetry, thermal expansion, heat transfer, ideal gases, kinetic interpretation, first law of thermodynamics, thermodynamic processes and heat engines. Questions often test whether the student can distinguish state variables from path variables.
Electricity and magnetism: Cover Coulomb's law, electric field and potential, capacitors, current, resistance networks, cells, Kirchhoff rules, magnetic force, motion of charges, Biot-Savart law, Ampere's law, electromagnetic induction, inductance and alternating-current circuits. Circuit diagrams should be solved systematically rather than visually guessed.
Optics: Study reflection, refraction, lenses, mirrors, optical instruments, interference, diffraction and polarisation as included in the official syllabus. Draw the ray diagram before applying a sign convention.
Modern physics and electronics: Prepare photons, photoelectric effect, de Broglie waves, atomic models, radioactive decay, nuclear energy, semiconductors, diodes and logic gates. These chapters can yield direct questions but still require careful reading of constants and units.
A Physics notebook should contain formulas, assumptions, common graphs and one corrected example for each recurring error. Merely copying formulas produces a large notebook but little retention.
Chemistry syllabus and preparation areas
Chemistry preparation should balance physical calculations, inorganic trends and organic reaction logic.
Physical Chemistry: Cover mole concept, atomic structure, states of matter, thermodynamics, equilibrium, redox reactions, solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics and surface chemistry where listed. Students should practise logarithms, concentration conversions, equilibrium expressions and unit consistency.
Inorganic Chemistry: Prepare periodicity, chemical bonding, hydrogen, s-block, p-block, d- and f-block elements, coordination compounds and metallurgy/environmental concepts included in the syllabus. NCERT statements, exceptions, colours, oxidation states and trends deserve repeated revision.
Organic Chemistry: Build from nomenclature, electronic effects, acidity/basicity, isomerism and reaction intermediates. Then revise hydrocarbons, halo compounds, alcohols, phenols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, amines, biomolecules, polymers and chemistry in everyday life as applicable. Learn why a reagent gives a product; isolated reaction memorisation becomes unreliable when options contain similar structures.
Students should maintain three short Chemistry resources: a formula sheet for Physical Chemistry, a reaction map for Organic Chemistry and an NCERT-based fact list for Inorganic Chemistry. Weekly mixed tests prevent one part from being ignored.
Mathematics syllabus and preparation areas
Mathematics commonly covers sets, relations and functions; complex numbers; quadratic equations; matrices and determinants; permutations and combinations; binomial theorem; sequences and series; limits; continuity; differentiability; applications of derivatives; integrals; differential equations; coordinate geometry; vectors; three-dimensional geometry; probability; statistics and trigonometry.
Algebra: Practise transformations rather than memorising only final identities. Complex-number geometry, roots of equations, determinants, matrices, progressions, binomial coefficients and counting need careful condition reading.
Calculus: Develop a strong chain from functions and limits to derivatives, applications, indefinite and definite integration, area and differential equations. Write intermediate steps during practice. Many wrong answers originate from a lost negative sign or missing constant.
Coordinate geometry: Revise straight lines, circles, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola with standard forms and geometric interpretation. Translating a word condition into an equation is as important as applying a formula.
Vectors and 3D geometry: Practise dot and cross products, direction ratios, lines and planes, distances and angles. Diagrams make spatial conditions easier to understand.
Probability and statistics: Define the sample space and conditions before calculation. Distinguish independent events from mutually exclusive events and revise conditional probability and standard measures specified in the syllabus.
How to use the official syllabus
Print or save the official syllabus and mark every topic as not started, learning, practice-ready or test-ready. “Completed” should mean that the student can solve mixed objective questions without referring to notes. Compare the syllabus with NCERT chapter names because official wording may group several textbook chapters under one heading.
Do not remove a topic solely because it was absent in a previous paper. Conversely, do not spend days on advanced material outside the official scope merely because it appears in a coaching module. Depth should first reach the AMU level across the entire syllabus.
