Seat matrices and later rounds

A seat matrix is tied to a route and a stage of counselling. The number of seats printed in a prospectus is not automatically the number still available in a later round. Vacancies can change through admissions, withdrawals and the rules governing the process. Use the engineering lateral-entry matrix associated with the current stage rather than a first-year intake table.

The official index includes separate August notices for engineering mop-up counselling. Their existence should not be read as a guarantee that every branch remained available. A candidate interested in a later round needs to check eligibility to participate, any fresh registration or choice requirement, the published matrix and the reporting instructions. Earlier participation does not establish that every later action happens automatically.

Do not assume a familiar freeze, float or upgrade procedure from another admission system applies unchanged here. Follow the options actually described for the relevant BCECE LE round. If retaining an existing seat while seeking another is important, establish the consequences before selecting an option. A speculative attempt to improve a seat can have practical consequences when reporting or payment requirements are overlooked.
