Application fees and subject-count arithmetic

The 2026 bulletin gives a base fee for up to three subjects and an additional charge for each further subject. For General candidates the amounts are ₹1,000 and ₹400 respectively. OBC-NCL and EWS candidates have ₹900 and ₹375; SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and third-gender candidates have ₹800 and ₹350. For centres outside India, the amounts are ₹4,500 and ₹1,800.

Thus a General candidate selecting five papers has a listed examination fee of ₹1,800, while an OBC-NCL or EWS candidate selecting four has ₹1,275. These calculations concern the listed examination fee. University application charges, academic fees and other payments are separate. The fact that a national test fee was paid does not establish payment of a university's admission registration charge.

Form completion and correction

The application sequence involves registration, completion of personal and academic information, subject and city choices, document uploads and fee payment. Review subject codes carefully because similarly named papers can serve different academic purposes. Save the confirmation page and payment record after successful completion, and retain access to the registered contact details.

Correction opportunities are defined by specific notices. The 2026 official archive includes correction and subject-updation notices, but this should not be interpreted as a permanent right to edit every field. A correction window can be limited to a particular group, date or set of fields. Creating a second application to work around a problem is also unsafe because the bulletin prohibits multiple applications by a candidate.

For an error report, state the application number, incorrect field, correct information and supporting record. A concise description allows the authority to identify whether the requested change falls within an available process. Keep the response and resulting corrected confirmation, rather than assuming that a submitted request automatically changed the examination database.
