What is AEEE 2026?

AEEE 2026 was Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's computer-based engineering entrance examination for B.Tech admission. It was conducted in two phases and used alongside JEE Main 2026 percentile as an admission route.

When was AEEE 2026 conducted?

Phase 1 ran from January 29 to February 1, 2026. Phase 2 ran from April 25 to April 30, 2026.

Is the AEEE 2026 application still open?

No. The official admission page states that B.Tech 2026 applications are closed.

Was it compulsory to appear in both phases?

No. The university said attending both phases was not mandatory. A Phase 1 candidate could choose Phase 2 by paying Rs 600.

Which score was used if a student appeared twice?

Amrita displayed a percentile after each phase and used the best percentile for assigning the final rank after both phases.

What was the initial application fee?

The official 2026 page specified Rs 1,300 to complete registration. It also permitted the registered candidate to add a JEE Main percentile without an additional application charge.

What was the age criterion?

The candidate's date of birth had to fall on or after July 1, 2005 under the AEEE 2026 rule.

What marks were required in Class 12?

A pass in 10+2 or equivalent with at least 55% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and at least 50% in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually was required.

Could a Class 12 appearing student apply?

Yes, appearing candidates could apply provisionally, but they had to pass and prove compliance with all eligibility rules by the admission deadline.

Was JEE Main accepted?

Yes. Admission was based on an AEEE 2026 rank or JEE Main 2026 percentile. JEE candidates still needed to apply to Amrita and register for CSAP.

What was the examination mode?

AEEE 2026 was a computer-based test conducted at examination centres in cities across India.

How long was the examination?

The duration was 150 minutes, or two and a half hours.

How many questions were asked?

There were 100 MCQs: 40 Mathematics, 25 Physics, 20 Chemistry, 10 Quantitative Aptitude and 5 English.

What was the marking scheme?

Three marks were awarded for a correct answer and one mark was deducted for an incorrect answer. An unanswered question carried no mark.

What was the maximum score?

The maximum raw score was 300 marks.

In which language was AEEE held?

The paper was conducted in English.

Was there negative marking?

Yes. Each wrong response attracted a deduction of one mark, so random guessing could lower the score.

What was the AEEE syllabus based on?

Amrita stated that the MCQs were based on state higher secondary and CBSE syllabi. The paper covered PCM, English and Quantitative Aptitude.

How did slot booking work?

Registered candidates logged in and chose an available date and time during the notified slot-booking window. Choices were subject to availability. The e-admit card was provisionally issued after successful booking.

Which identity proof was accepted at the centre?

The official FAQ listed Aadhaar card, driving licence, PAN card, passport and voter ID in addition to the e-admit card. Candidates had to follow the precise hall-ticket instruction.

What is the difference between score, percentile and rank?

Score is based on correct and wrong responses. Percentile describes relative performance under the university's method. Rank orders eligible candidates for admission use. They should not be treated as the same number.

Did AEEE have a fixed cutoff?

Amrita said there was no fixed cutoff system for AEEE or JEE. All score holders could register for CSAP. Actual allotment depended on performance, preferences, demand and available seats.

What is CSAP?

CSAP is the Centralised Seat Allotment Process through which eligible AEEE-rank and JEE-percentile applicants register preferences and receive B.Tech seat allotments.

When did CSAP begin?

The admission information indicated that candidates could register after AEEE rank declaration and described the process as beginning in May 2026. Candidate-specific schedules were communicated through the portal.

Could students choose campus and branch in the application form?

The official FAQ said campus and programme choices were selected during CSAP, after AEEE ranks were published, rather than being finalised in the initial application.

How were seats allotted?

Allotment used candidate preferences, eligibility and AEEE rank or JEE Main percentile, subject to seat availability and the applicable admission rules.

Was the counselling fee refundable?

The official FAQ said it was refundable only if none of the candidate's preferred branches was allotted through the end of CSAP. The handbook governed the precise terms.

Was there a management quota?

Amrita stated that there was no management quota or donation system. Candidates were warned not to pay agents or third parties promising a reserved seat.

Were scholarships available?

Yes. Scholarship-based fee slabs were linked to AEEE rank or JEE Main performance, branch, demand and seat availability. More than 70% of seats were stated to be earmarked in scholarship categories, with separate earmarking for AEEE and JEE candidates.

Does scholarship always mean full fee waiver?

No. Scholarship categories can represent different tuition slabs. Applicants must read the exact fee and scholarship policy for their allotted campus and programme.

Was lateral entry offered through AEEE?

No. The official B.Tech FAQ stated that lateral entry was not available.

How many engineering campuses participated?

The official 2026 page stated that eight engineering campuses offered B.Tech programmes: Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Faridabad, Haridwar and Nagercoil.

Could an OCI or NRI applicant apply without AEEE?

Certain OCI/PIO and NRI applicants educated abroad had routes where AEEE/JEE was not mandatory. NRI-sponsored applicants studying in India had to appear where applicable. Such cases needed the official NRI admissions channel.

What should a candidate do after receiving a rank?

Register for CSAP, pay the notified amount, enter carefully ordered campus-programme preferences, monitor allotment rounds and complete payment and document actions before each deadline.

What if a payment was debited but the portal did not update?

The candidate should avoid uncontrolled repeat payments, keep the bank and transaction reference and contact official admission support with the application number and proof.

What is the best material for AEEE preparation?

Use the official syllabus, Class 11 and 12 textbooks including NCERT-level material, worked examples, chapter-wise MCQs and timed CBT mocks. The official page also linked an Amrita practice-test portal.

Is preparing only PCM enough?

No. PCM carries 85 questions, but Quantitative Aptitude and English together carry 15. Ignoring them leaves 45 possible marks and can weaken time management.

How should negative marking change the strategy?

Candidates should answer known questions first, use elimination for reasonable uncertainty and avoid blind attempts. One correct answer offsets three wrong-answer penalties, but repeated random guessing still reduces the total.

Can an unofficial previous-year closing rank guarantee admission?

No. Demand, preferences, routes and vacancies change. Amrita itself does not declare one permanent cutoff guaranteeing a campus and branch.
