Reading an iteration result

An iteration is a stage in the admission allocation process. Its result may show an offer or another status under the institution's rules. Read the exact programme and campus rather than assuming that any positive result corresponds to the first preference. The candidate's next action is determined by the offer instructions and deadline attached to that stage.

An entrance-test score is not an admission letter. A national scorecard is not a completed BITS application. A fee receipt is not proof that every qualifying document has been accepted. These records establish different parts of the process. Keeping them together makes it easier to identify what has actually been completed and what remains conditional.

For the fifth iteration in 2026, the portal announced the result on 5 August, payment by 8 August at 5:00 p.m. and reporting on 10 August. An applicant covered by that offer could not safely use an earlier general reporting date. The later closure notice then established that no further iterations would follow. This chronology is more informative than a timetable that stops after the initial rounds.
