Start with the branch curriculum, teaching arrangements and practical work. Two programmes with similar titles can differ in required courses and electives. Read the official programme information and ask how laboratories, projects and assessments contribute to learning.

Placement figures need a defined batch and population. Highest package, number of offers, number of students placed and median salary describe different things. An institution-wide headline should not be presented as the typical outcome for every student in a particular branch.

Location affects daily life and cost. Compare transport, accommodation and the practical ability to attend classes, rather than assuming that a city label describes every campus equally. A campus on the outskirts can create a different routine from one near the student's accommodation.

An acceptable choice should remain acceptable if no later branch change occurs. Treat a potential change as a separate policy question, not the foundation of the admission decision. This helps the student choose a programme they are genuinely prepared to study.
