Admit-card window

The JEE Advanced 2026 admit card was scheduled for download from 11 May at 10:00 IST until 17 May at 14:30 IST. Candidates should download it at the beginning of the window, not on examination morning. Early access leaves time to identify a name, photograph, category, paper, centre or accommodation issue through the official channel.

An admit card is provisional. Its issue does not certify that every eligibility or admission condition has been satisfied. The candidate remains responsible for truthful registration and valid documents.

Verification checklist

Check the candidate’s name, roll or registration number, photograph, signature, date of birth where displayed, examination date, Paper 1 and Paper 2 timings, centre name and address, reporting time and instructions. Compare the route on a reliable map, then estimate travel using exam-day conditions rather than an ideal late-night travel time.

Print the required copies in the prescribed format and keep a digital copy accessible to the candidate or family for recovery, while recognising that a phone may not be permitted inside the centre. Carry the original photo identity document specified by the instructions. Do not assume a photocopy or a different identity document will be accepted.

Full-day logistics

The examination occupies most of the day. Pack only items permitted by the official instructions. Plan simple food and water for the interval, necessary medication with supporting documentation where required, weather protection and a backup transport margin. Candidates travelling from another city should arrive sufficiently early to absorb delays.

Paper 1 attendance does not excuse absence from Paper 2. Note the afternoon reporting requirement before leaving the centre area. Follow instructions about where candidates may spend the break and what may be carried back inside.

At the centre

Cooperate with identity verification, biometric capture, frisking and seating procedures. Read the workstation instructions and report technical problems immediately to the invigilator. Do not attempt to repair hardware, change seats or communicate with another candidate.

Use only supplied rough sheets as directed. Write identifying information where instructed and return material if required. Unauthorised notes, electronic devices and prohibited personal items can lead to serious consequences independent of academic performance.

Technical incident record

If the terminal freezes, an image fails to load or a response does not save, raise a hand immediately and describe the exact issue. The examination system and centre personnel maintain incident procedures. Quietly waiting wastes time and produces no record. Note the approximate time after the paper for any formal representation, but do not create disruption inside the room.

Final evening checklist

  • Printed admit card and accepted original identity proof.
  • Verified centre route, reporting time and transport backup.
  • Permitted clothing and items under the official instructions.
  • Food, hydration and medication plan for the two-paper day.
  • Adequate sleep rather than a late attempt to learn new chapters.
  • A family communication and pickup plan that does not depend on carrying a phone inside.

Use only the official website and candidate portal for the admit card. Search advertisements and unofficial “download” pages can expose credentials. After the exam, retain the signed or used copy until admission is complete.
