Admit card and examination-day checks

The hall ticket should be read as a set of candidate-specific instructions. Check the name, identifying details, test date, reporting time and complete centre address. A familiar city name is not enough to locate a building or entrance. If the address is unfamiliar, plan the route and a reasonable arrival margin before examination morning. The brochure advises arrival at least half an hour before the test begins and restricts late entry.

The university prohibits calculating aids and specified electronic or reference materials in the examination hall. Preparation should therefore include doing the required calculations without relying on a calculator. Carry only the items permitted by the hall-ticket instructions, and check the required writing instrument. A student who normally solves practice questions digitally should complete some paper sessions so that rough work and OMR handling are familiar.

On receiving the booklet, check that it is complete and that its series is recorded correctly. A defective booklet should be reported immediately to the invigilator. Do not try to reconstruct a missing diagram from another candidate's paper. During the test, keep rough work organised enough to revisit a question without repeating the whole calculation, but remember that the OMR response is what records the selected answer.
