Eligibility and qualifying marks

The brochure's programme table specifies the Intermediate or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with 45% for the general category and 40% for reserved categories. Applicants must check the precise treatment of their qualification and category against that table. An entrance rank does not replace the required school qualification, and a high overall school percentage cannot substitute for a required subject that the applicant did not study.

When checking eligibility, place the marks statement beside the programme rule. Identify the qualifying examination, required subjects, the relevant marks calculation and the applicable category condition. Do not select whichever percentage looks most favourable from an overall total, a best-subject total and a subject-group total. If the board's format makes the calculation unclear, ask the admissions office how it should be interpreted before making a declaration.

Students awaiting documents should distinguish between having passed and being able to prove that they have passed. A provisional mark sheet, a final certificate and a result that is still under revaluation are not necessarily interchangeable. The brochure contains restrictions concerning applicants waiting for revaluation results. A candidate in that situation needs an individual clarification from the university rather than a general assumption that every pending result will be accepted later.

Reservation and local status require their own evidence. A school's location, a family's present address and the issuing authority of a certificate may answer different questions. The brochure sets out local-area and other reservation provisions; an applicant should read the relevant clause in full instead of treating residence anywhere in Andhra Pradesh as a complete eligibility assessment. Where a claim depends on study history, reconstruct that history year by year before filling the form.

An applicant who studied in several places can prepare a small chronology containing academic year, institution, district and supporting certificate. This makes gaps visible early. It also helps the admissions office answer a precise question. “Which clause applies to these years of study?” is more useful than asking whether a candidate is simply local or non-local without providing the underlying facts. The chronology itself is a working aid, not a replacement for certificates.
